Upside finds value for US sports bettors, picking out over 100 optimized bets every day across 30+ US sportsbooks and betting platforms. It has quick scanning times, expert filters to get exactly what you are after, and the data aggregator calculates EV+ and probability percentages, picking out the best betting lines for your next bets.
What makes Upside stand out is that it also has a bunch of exclusive features that we haven’t seen elsewhere. Through the eSports Discrepancy tool, Epick Trader parlay optimizer and the Whale Watcher, it is designed to add valuable insights to your betting strategy and get you off to winning ways.

Upside Betting Features
Upside brings you EV+ bets, high value player props, arbitrage wagers, eSports discrepancies, and whale watcher betting features, among more. You can use it to meet practically any ends, whether it is comparing parlay bets at the best US sportsbooks for value, or seeking the best priced player props. The betting tool covers all the major US sports, including the NFL, NBA, NHL, MLB and college sports. It also covers many of America’s other favorite sports to bet on, including tennis, soccer, golf, darts, UFC, and eSports.
The betting tool covers the odds at many top US sportsbooks, including the likes of DraftKings, FanDuel, BetMGM and Caesars. It also has expert insights for DFS gaming, with coverage of major DFS platforms like PrizePicks, UnderDog, ParlayPlay and – importantly – Epick Fantasy. Upside also covers prediction markets and alternative betting platforms, including the likes of Kalshi and Polymarket, as well as Novig, Fliff, and various others.
The reason we highlighted Epick Fantasy is because that peer to peer DFS app was created by the same team as Upside. The Epick Trader subscription and tools are actually designed to enhance your results at Epick, though we felt they could be used at virtually any DFS platform with Pick’Em or Picks lineups contests. Now, onto the main betting features.

EV+ Game Lines and Props
Finding good value betting lines is all about scanning the market averages, calculating resulting probabilities and spotting those outlier prices that give you a good margin against the averages. Speed is essential, as is broad coverage to get relevant and accurate results. We liked how Upside does all of this very efficiently, you can open the EV+ screen and scan through the highlighted EV+ bets and compare them. There are filters through which you can narrow down the results by different books, sports leagues, matches, date, and even the EV+ value.
On the right side of the display, you can shop lines at the different sportsbooks (and DFS/alternative betting platforms), and on the right you get the EV percentage and the probability to win. You can filter by player props, and look for high value NFL player bets, all kinds of NBA props, and player bets across any of the sports Upside covers. This is easy to use, and the odds continuously update in speeds of under 3 seconds, which is very powerful.
Arbitrage and Low Hold Finder
The strong scanner tech, and the wide reach of sportsbooks and alternative betting platforms, makes Upside Tools ideal for arbitrage bets. Open the Arbitrage portal and you can find high ROI hedged betting combinations, which you can filter by book and tweak to use your sportsbooks and work to your budget. The arbitrage bets also update continuously, which is an area that we have suffered with at other betting tools. At Upside, however, we found that the displayed lines and prices were always accurate, and the tool is quick to pick up any line changes.
The low hold tool is similarly precise. This hedging strategy is commonly associated with high rollers looking to gain access to the VIP program of a sportsbook. At Upside, however, there is a neat touch through the Target Bet Size filter, which allows lower budget bettors to also plan their road towards VIP tiers. You can compare odds at different books, change the recommendations to use your sportsbooks, and see how the ROI and hold % changes by mixing and matching prices across any of the 30+ sportsbooks.

eSports Discrepancies
This is a fascinating, and pretty unique feature at Upside Tools. The software scans for big discrepancies for eSports bets specifically. As it is a relatively niche sport, finding bets on these events can be difficult, but Upside can trace these to the DFS platforms that offer valuable eSports bets. And then, as a niche sport, there is a better chance for bigger discrepancies, thus opening higher EV+ and better arbitrage ROI.
The eSports discrepancies, or margins, can get very long at Upside, going beyond 10% and even up to 40% or higher. These are not just moneylins or spreads either, you can also get props such as CS2 headshot kills or LoL map kills. There are also filters through which you can look at specific books, cover certain eSports, or just set a minimum threshold for the EV. We also like how Upside displays the number of results, and the average market discrepancy % to give better context for these results.
Whale Watch
Whale Watching is something that is completely new to sports betting. The concept comes from stock trading or Forex trading – where you observe “whale” activity to determine the market sentiment. Whales here are the high rollers, and in trading, when a whale pumps or dumps a stock, it is commonly associated with a major market move. For sports betting, there are many parallels. For instance, when loads of money gets pumped into one side of a betting line, the odds on that bet tend to shrink, while the other side of the bet grows. It is a type of risk management that sportsbooks do.
Now as a whale watcher, you track the spending activity on one line, and then you can anticipate future line movements. This is CLV betting done smart, and something that Upside does for you, so you can get in your bets before major line movements or sentiment shifts. You can also track winning whale movements and tail the big money that wins, just make sure to get in your prices while they are good, and before the sportsbooks shade their lines to cover their bases. We haven’t seen this software elsewhere, and it is one of the most intriguing and insightful features of Upside.

Epick Trader Parlay Optimizer
The Epick Trader is designed for users of Epick Fantasy Sport, but we felt that it is not exclusively for these users. We felt it works well for users of other DFS platforms, like PrizePicks, Betr, WannaParlay, and UnderDog, and so on. It is also effective for parlay betting at conventional US sportsbooks too. So this parlay optimizer does not just calculate EV on your multiples bets. It can also calculate the prices at other sportsbooks, so you can evaluate them just as if they were straight bets. Then, you can review and edit your parlays, to look for higher value, gauge risk, and find the perfect balance.
At Epick Fantasy, you can actually fade parlays, which adds great value to the parlay optimizer tool. You aren’t just comparing parlays to win, but you can also look for optimal parlays to fade, and then bet against these parlays. And at Epick, if just 1 selection fails, you win your parlay fading bet (on the platform, these are called “Fade’Em” lineups). You compare parlay bets by sport, set the number of legs, and examine the odds (or multipliers – for DFS apps).
Betting Calculators
In the menu, you can open the Upside betting calculators, which can devig the odds, calculate the EV edges, match bonuses, calculate Kelly stake sizes, and also calculate the EV and probabilities of your parlay bets. These are simple, yet highly informative. You can use them to quickly calculate how much you should stake in your hedge bets, calculate fair percentages and vig on bet pairings, and much more.
We like how it is quick to pull these calculators up, and they don’t just cover the basics, but also crunch up EV, winning %, bonus conversion %, and other key numbers for your betting game.
Upside Tools Pricing Breakdown
Upside Tools has three subscription models, and while they are not cheap, we would consider them to fall somewhere among the “average priced” tools. You aren’t paying hundreds of dollars per month, but you aren’t shelling out $10 for a month. That being said, they are fairly priced, and if you sign up for an annual subscription you can knock off anywhere from 40% to 70% off the price (depending on the package).
Optimizer Plan
$59.99/month
$432/year ($36 monthly)
The Optimizer Plan brings you all the EV+ bets, with fast line updates and all markets from the standard moneylines, spreads and totals to valuable player props. You get all the features that this tool has to offer, except for its exclusive Whale Watcher and Epick Trader tools.
Whale Watch
$99.99/month
$359.99/year ($30 monthly)
This is one of the most popular subscriptions at Upside, because it brings you something unique. The whale watching features can show you significant line buying at any covered book or DFS app, and you can either follow the big money or wait for the lines to tilt and then fade it. You can also track your edge over time, and see which whales are making the most money, and which are best to fade. The yearly subscription is heavily discounted, and this premium comes with everything at Optimizer.
Epick Trader
$99.99/month
$594/year ($49.50 monthly)
Epick Trader boosts the Optimizer package with the flagship Epick Trader feature. Again, we could use this function at Epick, but also at other DFS platforms and even sportsbooks. For DFS gaming in general, we think it is one of the most unique and insightful picks/lineups enhancers. For sports bettors, there are definitely other parlay betting tools out there, but not many can directly compare the prices of custom parlays at your sportsbooks and alternative betting platforms.
When you sign up through our links, you can get a 5 day free trial of any of the subscriptions, which gives you ample time to check out the coverage, test the EV+ bets, and get an idea of how Upside Tools can work for your betting workflow.

What Distinguishes Upside Tools
The whale watcher and Epick Trader features definitely give Upside a big boost over the competition. They are both well thought out tools that do something that your average CLV/line movement tracker or DFS optimizer doesn’t do. We also feel that the base Optimizer package is pretty competitive, with good US sports coverage including niche sports, and it has good filters to help you navigate your way to the bets that best suit your strategy.
Areas to Improve
As it is right now, Upside is a highly efficient tool and we feel it justifies its price tag. The only glaring omission is mobile apps, but the betting tool site is fully mobile accessible.
That being said, if there was anything we would like to see improved at Upside tools, it would probably be to have a more organized EV+ interface. If the main EV+ screen had filters for betting markets, it would enhance that user friendly feeling and make it easier for members to filter directly for their preferred markets.
For the Optimizer subscription, we could argue that it would be useful to have line movement trackers, although not at the expense of pushing the price up. Another feature that would be very useful is a good bankroll management tool, to help you track these edges and find out where Upside has worked best with your strategy.
Is Upside Tools Legit
Yes, Upside Tools is a trustworthy betting tool that we have trialed and tested. The tool is run by the same people who run Epick Fantasy, and there is a dedicated Discord channel, X page, and YouTube tutorials to help you get started.
Who Upside Tools is For
Both DFS users and sports bettors can use Upside, and it has vast sports coverage so you aren’t limited to betting on the main US sports leagues. Plus, Upside covers all the major US sportsbooks, so you aren’t getting irrelevant EV+ bets at blacklisted sites. There are insightful strategies and betting software that are simplified and made accessible for beginners. Take note, this is not a stats research tool, but a betting tool that analyzes betting odds and calculates the resulting EV, winning percentages, and picks out EV+ bets based on the odds offered.
Through the annual subscriptions, lower budget bettors can also splash out on this premium tool, and get an edge in their sports bets. The Whale Watcher function is very effective in the hands of a value bettor, and it can change the way you approach CLV betting and timing your wagers. The Epick Trader leans a little more towards DFS Pick’Em building. But, again, we feel it is also very useful for real money bettors who want to optimize their parlay betting.

Our Verdict
For its originality, advanced scanners and broad coverage (of both sports categories and sportsbooks), Upside gets a high rating in our review. We feel this tool can be used by virtually any bettor, and it has enough filters and features to optimize your sports bets. Having just 100+ EV bets per day is actually very realistic. Because Upside doesn’t scan international sportsbooks or unregulated books (where the outliers can be massive, but they are not accessible for US bettors).
So we felt pretty confident in the calculations, and enjoyed how efficiently Upside pinpoints good value in its betting markets. The tool is not as old as the likes of Outlier or OddsJam, but it is quickly building a name for itself, and it definitely has the software to compete with the more established betting tools in the US.
